Pom Bhogal
Alongside my role as Head of the Young People’s Service at Nottinghamshire County Council, I’m also the Co-chair and a Trustee of the East of England and East Midlands Regional Youth Work Unit.
With decades of experience in delivering, designing and leading public sector services for children and young people. I bring a blend of strategic vision and practical know-how to the Unit, working with partners to create safe and inspiring spaces where young people can learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
At Nottinghamshire County Council, I lead a large and diverse team of professionals focused on delivering quality youth services and outdoor education, managing everything from people and budgets to partnerships and policy development. This experience has sharpened my skills in resource management, people development, and tackling the ever-evolving challenges facing young people today. I’m passionate about translating that expertise into meaningful, hands-on impact at the Unit, where I help shape initiatives that truly resonate with young people.
Whether coaching team members, fostering partnerships, or advocating for resources, I’m committed to building connections and systems that make a difference. My work at the Council has taught me the importance of being adaptable and responsive, qualities I bring to the Unit as we continuously evolve to meet the needs of young people across our region.
When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family and giving back to my local community through volunteering. I’m driven by a commitment to make a positive impact on others, inside and outside of ‘work’.
