Bursary Round 8 is now open.
In this first round we have two Level 2 Award courses (12 places per course) and one Level 3 Top up Certificate course (10 places). To access the Level 3 Course you must have completed the Level 2 Award. This is the last year that there will be access to the current Level 3 route, a new pathway will start in 2027. The Level 2 courses start in September. The Level 3 course will start in January 2027
This initiative aims to support individuals looking to enhance their skills and advance their careers in youth work.
All the courses are funded through the Government’s Training Bursaries scheme.
Participants will receive guidance from experienced facilitators to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
All the courses will be delivered online, and you will need access to a computer or tablet to participate; the use of mobile phones is not suitable.

The East of England and East Midlands Regional Youth Work Unit’s Professional Development Programme for 2026/27 is now open for applications.
The programme offers a range of free online professional development opportunities for Youth Workers and other staff working with young people. All Regional Youth Work Unit sessions will be delivered via Zoom, with a maximum of 15 places on each course. Places will be allocated on a first-come basis, while also seeking to achieve an equitable geographical spread across the East of England and East Midlands.
The programme includes eleven workshops covering a broad range of contemporary youth work practice and workforce development themes. These include:
The programme runs from October 2026 through to March 2027, providing opportunities for practitioners, managers and organisations to strengthen and refresh their practice across a wide range of areas.
The brochure also includes details of additional free partner training from The Politics Project, including Gamifying Democracy and Conversations with Politicians. These sessions are booked directly with The Politics Project rather than through the Regional Youth Work Unit application process. These courses are funded by the Electoral Commission.
