
Martin Solder
Martin Solder has been the chief officer at EBGC for the last 33 years. He is a qualified teacher and youth worker who has over 40 year of youth work experience. He has over seen the development of EBGC from a small local charity to an organisation with a turnover in excess of £1m last year and at times £4m+.
He is a qualified Winter and Summer Mountain leader and has a keen interest in Outdoor Education. EBGC runs 3 outdoor centres Maes Y Lade Outdoor Centre, High Row Centre, and Layer Marney Outdoors and up until fairly recently also ran Stubbers adventure Centre for 28 years. He is equally as passionate about sport having represented Great Britain at Racquetball and completed a number of Ironman triathlons and endurance events such as swimming the Great Glen.
In addition, he is a trustee of a number of charitable organisations that work in the youth and sports fields primarily Chair of Vision Redbridge Culture and Leisure, Chair of Frenford Clubs, Chair of Essex Council for Voluntary Youth Services, Treasurer of the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs, Vice Chair of North Ave Youth Club and Treasurer of the Regional Youth Work Unit.
